While we can't get enough of that song "Somebody That I Used to Know," its singer, Gotye, is already over it. The 31-year-old performed a private concert Monday at Hollywood's Sayers Club and didn't even play it! Fewer than 100 people, including Demi Moore's daughter Rumer Willis and reality star Audrina Patridge caught the show, which was hosted by L.A. radio station 98.7 FM. The breakup anthem, which is Gotye's first song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, reached the No. 1 spot following his appearance on "Saturday Night Live" earlier this month.

The Australian artist didn't sing his hit, but he did take the opportunity to clarify some remarks that had been attributed to him by his home country's The Sunday Mail about TV show "Glee's" cover of the song on its April 10 episode. He was quoted as saying some unflattering things, like that the "Glee" version of it, sung by Darren Criss and Matt Bomer, was "dinky" and "wrong," and that it sounded "like it's playing to you from a cardboard box." But Gotye was much more complimentary of the way the song was used during his interview with the radio station's Kennedy (remember her from MTV?). "I thought it was really clever to transpose the song to two guys ...it was a great idea," Gotye said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He also claimed that he meant that the song is always "dinky," even in the original, thanks to the use of the xylophone. His words were taken out of content, he said, and "that becomes the 'Glee' cover I hated and Darren Criss is an a--hole."

Whatever his true feelings, it sounds like Gotye's on his way to becoming someone who hates everything that a lot of people like, including his own song. He's already getting the hang of this whole rock star thing!
