Chris Brown fails court-ordered drug test, but gets support from Rihanna

Rihanna may have forgiven Chris Brown for beating her, but he's not off the hook with the law yet. On Monday, the "Turn up the Music" singer was in a Los Angeles Superior Court for a probation hearing regarding the 2009 offense (for which he plead guilty) — and it he didn't get a pat on the back from the judicial system. But before he even stepped foot in the courtroom, he already had the support of his victim. "I'm praying for you and wishing u the best today!" Rihanna tweeted to Brown, who responded, "Thank u so much."

But Rihanna's well-wishes weren't enough to help her ex. During the hearing, Judge Patricia Schnegg revealed that Brown tested positive for marijuana during a random screening in his home state of Virginia, where he has been doing his community service. But the tricky part is that he has a medicinal marijuana card in California, where he says he took the drug, so the positive test wasn't an immediate violation of his probation.

Another hearing was set for November 1, where the judge will make her decision, but before she let Brown, 23, leave on Monday, she had a stern warning for him. "You are not an average person who can sit in their living room and do what you want to do," Schnegg said. "You are not only in the public eye, but you are on probation … which means that if you violate any laws or orders, then you're subject to a probation violation."

When Brown and Schnegg meet again, she will also go over his community service log from Virginia, which she describes as "somewhat cryptic." An audit of those records was requested after Richmond police said that Brown completed all 1,402 hours of his community service, a claim that has been called into question by the prosecution.

While Rihanna has been supportive of Brown, his current girlfriend Karrueche Tran hasn't been as vocal. After his hearing, she tweeted, "GOD IS GOOD," although it's unclear if she was talking about her boyfriend who has reportedly been hooking up with RiRi.
