Carrie Underwood Promises Her New Album Will Be ’14 Tracks of Awesome’

A little rain didn't dampen the spirits of Carrie Underwood or her fans when she performed live in Manhattan's Times Square on "Good Morning America" Tuesday. Dressed in white and black pants that allowed her to shimmy, she sang "Good Girl" and "Cupid's Got a Shotgun" off her new album Blown Away, as well as her past hit "Cowboy Casanova."

Talking about the new album, which is her fourth studio project, Underwood — wearing a "Blown Away" necklace — described it to "GMA" host Robin Roberts as, "Fourteen tracks of awesome pretty much. A lot of emotions. A lot of different tempos, feelings. We take people on a roller coaster ride." And, of course there's a fun revenge song, which has become her signature. "It wouldn't be a Carrie Underwood album without some anger," she laughed.

During her "GMA" guest appearance, the five-time Grammy winner, who got her start on "American Idol," also announced that she's kicking off a nationwide tour this fall. "I can't wait to get back out on the road and perform new music from my new album for my fans," the 29-year-old Oklahoma native said. "We have a lot of exciting things planned!" Tickets will go on sale May 11.

Underwood also talked about recently joining Twitter. "It's been fun to have that instant connection and interaction," she told "GMA" of the social media site. Though her country cohort Brad Paisley, an early adopter of Twitter, poked fun of her for being so late to the party. "He said the world was going to come to an end because I had joined Twitter. If that happens, I'm sorry."

When Underwood hits the road this fall, one person who won't be logging thousands of miles with her on the tour bus is her husband, NHL player Mike Fisher. "We see each other as much as we can, but he's not one for road life," she recently told Vegas magazine. "He can't really sleep on the bus. You can't have a giant bed in the back, so I'm like, 'You're touching me! Go away. What are you doing? Scoot over!'" He also finds the touring life a bit of a snooze. "I think if he ever comes out with us on tour for any length of time, I'm going to have to find him something to do!"

Although her career often keeps them apart, she says that her relationship with her husband is the most stable one she's ever been in. "He's the only guy I've never had to worry about," she says in Glamour's June issue. "Any guy I've ever dated, there would always be that doubt: 'He didn't answer his phone. What's he doing? It's late. I'm not the crazy-girlfriend type, but there was a little voice in the back of my head. I don't have to worry about Mike. I don't think twice. He's going out? I don't care; it doesn't bother me. I don't bat an eye… We're both independent people, so we can't have somebody around 24 hours a day, seven days a week."

And that's a good thing considering she has over 60 performances scheduled through the remainder of the year.
