Britney Spears: ‘I’m Like Everybody Else’

Britney Spears endured a couple of rough years in the Hollywood spotlight. (Remember the head-shaving incident? Her bitter custody battle? The stints in rehab?) Fortunately, with a little help from her parents James and Lynne -- she was placed under the permanent conservatorship of her father in 2008 -- the 29-year-old pop star appears to have turned her life around. She's received the best reviews of her career for her new album, Femme Fatale, is in a happy relationship with agent Jason Trawick, and loves being a mom to her two sons with ex-hubby Kevin Federline: Sean Preston, 5, and Jayden James, 4. Hmmm... maybe things have actually settled down for Brit because aside from her millions, she's really kind of normal.

For example, in the new issue of Harper's Bazaar, Spears describes her perfect day as: "Getting up with coffee -- two cups of coffee. Having a good workout, taking a swim, my boys being there, and just having a good day at the pool -- we have a theme-park slide. We'd have snow cones, then I'd go to the movies and spend time with my boyfriend. Maybe a Femme Fatale moment. [laughs] I'm pretty normal. The type of day I love is just like everybody else's. I'm like everybody else."

Well, Britney's not exactly like everybody else -- most of us don't have a theme-park slide in our backyard -- but she's normal in the sense that she's figured out a way to enjoy life's simple pleasures like, um, when people trip and fall down, which makes her laugh uncontrollably. "Not to be mean, but I can't help it," she admits. "If they really hurt themselves, then I feel bad, but if they accidentally do it and they stand up and act cool like nobody saw them, I have to laugh."

The Best Cuts for Every Age

She's also a fan of teen heartthrob Justin Bieber.

"I think he's adorable," she gushes. "I just saw his movie, and I really didn't realize how big he was. He's enormous; he's just Mr. Man. A lot of the movie is really similar to what I did when I was starting out. I did a promo tour for a year, going into radio stations and all that. It was so cool to see our similarities."

But would Brit want her own boys follow in her footsteps? "If they have a love and passion for the arts and that's what they want to do, then so be it," she says. "They are both little actors and so charismatic, I wouldn't be surprised at all."

Britney On Her Family, Pregnancy, and Fame

As for how motherhood has changed her personally, Brit notes it's forced her to grow up. "I think things through a little bit more, and I worry a lot," she says. "I'm more straightforward, and I speak up more than I did before. When I was younger, I wouldn't speak up as much, but now that I'm a mom, things have changed." So would she ever consider getting married again or having more kids? "I've thought about both," Spears confesses. "So if the timing was right ..."
