will.i.am Waxes Romantic

will.i.am is everywhere these days! The Black Eyed Peas singer is busy with his band and producing, lending his voice to the new movie "Rio," and mentoring the contestants on "American Idol" part-time. He still found a few minutes to talk to Elle about his love life and the surprising song that the guy behind hits such as "My Humps" and "Boom Boom Pow" can't live without.

Oddly enough, when the subject turns to women, the 36-year-old reveals that when he was a kid he was attracted to an unlikely character in pop culture. "Who's the lady that did 'cuchi-cuchi'? Charo!," he reveals. "I loved me some Charo. Back in the '80s, she was everywhere -- 'The Love Boat,' 'Fantasy Island.'"

The super producer, who's worked with Britney Spears and Usher, also admits what turns him off when it comes to the ladies. "If she had condoms in her house, that would just throw me off," the star says. "That's just tacky ... I just think, like, if you're into someone and you guys get to that level, then that's something you should converse about together and say, 'Hey, maybe we should get some.'"

The soundtrack of choice for the Black Eyed Pea isn't exactly a dance track. It's "Just the Way You Are" by Billy Joel! "If you love somebody, that person is going to (f---) you up one day," he confesses. "So the song's saying, 'Here's my love, and I ain't going nowhere. So don't go changing. ... I like you even though I know you're going to slip and fall, and it's going to (f---in') ruin my life."

Spoken like a true romantic.
