It's Suri Cruise's world, Katie Holmes just lives in it. That was evident on Tuesday night when the 5-year-old went to dinner with her actress-mother in New York City — dressed in her pajamas! The ever-so-stylish Suri paired her heart-patterned nighties with a purple suede coat and silver flats for a late meal at trendy ABC Kitchen with a very dressed-down Holmes and her maternal grandmother, Kathleen. "Suri dresses herself and she was born that way," daddy Tom Cruise has said of his daughter. "She creates her own outfits. Kate's always doing creative things with her. They draw, create things, and sew. It's beautiful."
Earlier in the day, the mother-daughter duo went on a shopping spree in the Big Apple. They were spotted at Make Meaning, a child-friendly craft store, where Suri — who will turn 6 in April — was carried around by her exhausted-looking mom, 33. Suri was later photographed attempting to jump over a puddle as they headed back into their Manhattan apartment. The two have been spending time in NYC before they head south to Louisiana, where Cruise is filming his next movie, an untitled sci-fli flick.
With her birthday just weeks away (April 16), we wonder how the little princess will celebrate. Holmes and Cruise are known for spoiling their little girl more than usual on her special day. Last year, they threw a lavish tea party at their Beverly Hills mansion. "I kind of like to girl it up!" Holmes explained. "This is my favorite day of the year." Previous themes for Suri's birthday have included cupcake-decorating and trampoline parties. Oh, to be Suri!
