Robin Thicke and his 2-year-old son play at the park

Looks like Robin Thicke is enjoying his summer vacation! The smooth-voiced crooner and his 2-year-old son Julian played at Coldwater Canyon Park in Los Angeles on Thursday. Both father and son were dressed simply and stylishly in T-shirts and denim. Little Julian even sported a necklace — just like dad! Both wore big smiles as Robin, 35, helped the little guy climb the rocks.

Just last month, the "Magic" singer had a lot less time for fun family outings. He was one of four celebrities, along with Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Jennifer Nettles, who regularly appeared on ABC singing competition "Duets," before winner J Rome was crowned on July 19. While Thicke seemed excited to be part of the project professionally, he revealed in June that there was one problem with it: "The show is really taking time away from my kid," he told People. "I try to have him come to the set if I can, and I spend a couple of hours with him. He's been in my dressing room, playing with Play-Doh. I really love when I'm with him." Aw!

Julian's mom is "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" actress Paula Patton, who's been married to Thicke since 2005. Thicke, who is the son of "Growing Pains" actor Alan Thicke, has revealed that the family might not grow any larger. "We're not planning to have more kids any time soon," he said. "It's hard enough to balance things the way they are. I don't want to throw another child into the mix right now."

He's no longer on TV, but Thicke still has concerts to perform. He's scheduled to make the crowd swoon in Tacoma, Washington on August 11, and then head to the eastern part of the country later in the month.
