Looks like Nadya "Octomom" Suleman will have to find someone new to give her those Brazilian blowouts. A day after her hairdresser went to police with photographs she thought proved Suleman's children were being neglected, the single mom-of-14 is hitting back at her (now likely former) friend. "I think, maybe, me and my kids were set up," Suleman said in an interview with "Good Morning America" on Thursday after she was paid a visit by CPS. "We were set up."
During the pre-taped chat, which took place in her messy and graffiti-covered La Habra, California, home, Suleman had an excuse for every claim made by her hairdresser, Stephanie. As for the reason the 3-year-old octuplets were only in T-shirts and using training potties set up in the backyard, she admits a toilet in her home was broken at the time on April 18, but is now fixed. "She thought it was unacceptable that they're half-naked going potty. I mean, moms out there, come on." Suleman also had an explanation for the chair that was wedged under a door Stephanie claimed was to lock the kids out while she got her hair done. She blamed one of her six older children, who did it "so [the younger ones] wouldn't keep opening and closing the door."
What angered people as much as the thought of Suleman neglecting her children was the fact that she paid Stephanie a whopping $520 for the pricey Brazilian blowout (which included two previous haircuts) as well as an additional $80 worth of product — when she is on welfare. Suleman claims the amount also covered haircuts for her 14 children, although Stephanie told TMZ on Wednesday that she cuts the kids' hair for free "because you can't tell which ones are boys and which ones are girls, they all look the same!" And even if the $520 was spent just for herself, "I can afford it," she insisted. "I am making money, I have jobs." When the reporter brought up the nearly $5,000 she receives each month in public assistance, Suleman claimed, "It's almost over. This is our last month on food stamps." So how does she make money? "I use the media to pay the bills," Suleman angrily stated, while holding up her hand to the reporter's face. "Any offer now is to take care of my kids."
When asked if she had plans to bring any more children into the world, Suleman responded without hesitation. "Never, never, never, never, never. No more babies."
And for once, she made sense!
