Every time I see a photo of Nicole Richie and her family -- like these shots of her grabbing coffee with her adorable 17-month-old son Sparrow on Tuesday -- I marvel at how the former party girl really has turned her life around.
Just a few years ago, Richie was arrested for driving the wrong way on a California freeway while under the influence. Now, the clean and sober 29-year-old is married to Joel Madden, with whom she created "The Richie Madden Children's Foundation," has two beautiful children, and is busy juggling motherhood along with writing novels and running her House of Harlow 1960 and Winter Kate fashion lines.
On Tuesday, Nicole even sat in as a guest co-host on "The View," where she weighed in on the Charlie Sheen situation and called him out after he blamed CBS for meddling in his "personal life" by putting his popular sitcom "Two and a Half Men" on hiatus.
"I don't think he should make it somebody else's responsibility to keep him sober," stated Richie. "If he wants [his sobriety] to last for a long time, it's up to him. He's an adult and he needs to take responsibility for his actions."
