Kelsey Grammer explains why he brought infant daughter to Playboy Mansion party

The Playboy Mansion is known for being filled with babes … not babies. But that was the case on Saturday night when Kelsey Grammer hit up Hugh Hefner's annual Halloween bash with a very underage girl: his 3-month-old daughter, Faith! In a photo obtained by TMZ (click here to view), the baby is seen soundly sleeping in her car seat, surrounded by half-empty plastic cups (presumably filled with alcohol) with an unidentified woman who is not her mother (Kayte Grammer, 31) sitting next to her with a drink in hand.

According to a partygoer, the "Boss" star, 57, was having a good time, whooping it up at a table next to Paris Hilton and her boyfriend, River Viiperi, until the wee hours.

But Grammer says he and Kayte had good reason for bringing along the littlest party guest. "Kayte is breast-feeding and we do not have a nanny or a trusted baby-sitter at this time, so Faith goes everywhere with us," the actor tells omg! in a statement. "We enjoyed the party with a few of our friends, the baby slept as her ears were covered the entire time and we left shortly after midnight. Kayte dressed as a witch (her hat was missing as she had removed it because her wig was itching and it was hot)--I threw together an uninspired Dracula. We enjoyed the evening. We love our child. Kayte is my wife and lady love ... The world is round. All our eyes are blue. Happy Halloween and Cock-a-doodle-doo!"

During the soiree, a Playmate tweeted, "Why the fk does Kelsey Grammer have a newborn baby at the Mansion party!?!?!?" according to TMZ. Not surprisingly, his ex-wife and mother of two of his five children, "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Camille Grammer, made sure to spread the word after news broke that the TV star was perhaps not the most model father by re-tweeting TMZ's original story.
