Jessica Simpson Gave Birth in $3,784-a-Night Luxury Suite: Report

When Jessica Simpson delivered her nearly 10-pound baby girl Maxwell Drew Johnson on Tuesday morning, she did so in the lap of luxury. The singer-designer reportedly rented out a sweet $3,784-a-night three-room, two-bath suite at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles — big enough to house fiancé Eric Johnson and his family, her parents, sister Ashlee, and their many well-wishers. And when they're not all cooing over the little girl, everyone can entertain themselves with the room's amenities: a flat-screen TV and DVD player, stereo, refrigerator stocked with bottled water and juice, baskets of fresh fruit and muffins, hotel-style robes, salon services, and gourmet meals made-to-order.

Despite all that the suite has to offer, Jessica's family (including her mom Tina, sister Ashlee, and personal assistant) was spotted making a Starbucks run on Tuesday afternoon, just hours after the birth. According to Us Weekly, Tina was overheard gushing that her new granddaughter "is so precious and peaceful."

And now that baby Maxwell is here, her family could not be more thrilled. On Tuesday afternoon, new aunt Ashlee described her joy to People. "Bronx [her 3-year-old son with Pete Wentz] and I are in love with Maxwell already! Jessica has wanted to be a mom since we were little girls and I couldn't be more excited for her and Eric!" Just as excited as Ashlee is her son, who has been busy the past few months writing songs for his baby cousin Maxwell. Explained Jessica, 31, last month at her baby shower, "He records songs on my sister's iPhone about the things he wants to do with the baby, like swim in the ocean and go to the playground. The first one just made me cry. We're making a CD of them — it was the best gift of all."
