Jennifer Garner goes from glam movie star to multitasking mom in just a few hours

Jennifer Garner made a radiant return to the red carpet at the premiere of "The Odd Life of Timothy Green" on Monday night. The actress — who had largely been out of the spotlight after the birth of son Samuel in February — generated big buzz for her attention-grabbing red Lanvin dress. But the next day it was back to business for the busy mom — business being raising her young brood.

On Tuesday, the 40-year-old brought her three children — including Violet, 6, and Seraphina, 3 — to Baskin-Robbins in Pacific Palisades, California. No designer dress this time. Garner was dressed practically in jeans and a long sleeved tie-dye shirt. The multitasking mom was attending to newborn Samuel as well as trying to convince her tiny dancer Seraphina — clad in a ballerina outfit — to hold her hand as they walked to the car.

Luckily Mrs. Ben Affleck had a little assistance for the "31 flavors" adventure: Her father, Bill Garner, was visiting from West Virginia and helped with Samuel while his daughter kept an eye on the girls.

While Jennifer Garner clearly has her hands full, things could get even crazier in the Garner-Affleck household. At the "Timothy Green" premiere, Garner said Affleck, 39, wants more children. Describing her home as "absolute chaos," Garner admitted to "Extra," "I really did not realize how much more work three was going to be than two." But Affleck must not mind the chaos, because he's pulling for a fourth. "The fact that Ben wants another is true … I can tell you that would be a pretty uphill battle with me. I am not anticipating having any more kids!"

Although Garner and Affleck may not see eye to eye on their head count at home, she says her husband is top-notch when it comes to helping out with the kids so that she can work. "Ben took a break, he came, he did the school drop-offs and pick-ups and bedtimes," she said of their arrangement while she was filming "Timothy Green."

And Affleck may soon be busier at home. Garner, whose breakout role was playing Sydney Bristow in the TV series "Alias" a decade ago, says she'd like to make more action movies. "Do I think there will be a return to the action? I hope so!" Jennifer told E!. "Yes! I was just working out with my trainer this morning, and she's trained me for 12 years and she was like, 'I think it's time. I think we need to put some pleather on.'"

As for an "Alias" movie, "Wouldn't that be fun?" she said. But added, "I think [show creator] J.J. [Abrams] is pretty busy for that."

Abrams isn't the only one who's busy. So is this mom/movie star.
