Goddess: Celebrity Moms and DadsHeidi Klum’s Secret to a Happy Marriage
Heidi Klum is a busy lady. The supermodel mom of four (her youngest daughter, Lou, is just 7 months old!) is also the host of "Project Runway," has a line of beauty products, and two maternity clothing lines. That's why the 36-year-old had no choice but to do an interview for Redbook's June issue via e-mail.
Since Heidi and Seal (who seriously seem like the happiest couple in Hollywood) will celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary on May 10 -- and are planning to renew their vows this weekend in Mexico (they get remarried every year) -- it's fitting that the bubbly model would reveal a few of her secrets to a successful relationship, one being that she adores her husband.
"I don't know why I got so lucky," she gushes. "I have to pinch myself often and say, 'Is this just a dream?' Not only do I love my husband for the obvious reasons (ahem, his sex appeal), but also he is one of the kindest, most loving men I have ever met. He is sexy to me because he is fearless and not afraid to show emotions. He is a super-sexy, hot kisser and ... he is sexy to me because he can be singing in front of 25,000 people one minute and, the next, be changing our daughter's diaper."
Of course, Heidi makes sure she does her part to keep the love alive as well. "One thing I think I will always want to be for my husband is not only his wife, mother of his children, and his best friend, but also his 'hot' girl who keeps making an effort to be attractive and fun!" she exclaims. "I tossed the baggy sweatpants in the bin a long time ago so that I can't even be tempted to put them on again!"
And when you're raising four children, I would imagine sweatpants can be quite tempting. "With four kids, life is always out of control," she admits. "But that's what you need to know will happen when you sign up for a big family. You need to have lots of patience, which I don't have -- but thankfully my husband does! I think if you give your best as a parent, then that's all you can do. We have so much fun as a family. We try to go on adventures and outings: to the movies, the circus, Disneyland. It's important for children to see what's out there and learn that it's fun to go. It's fun for us as parents, too, to experience things again through their eyes."
Heidi on Why She Thinks Seal Is Sexy
Fortunately, Seal doesn't feel that having a big brood has changed his relationship with Heidi all that much. "My focus will always be on Heidi first and foremost," he says. "That relationship is at the core of everything you do as a family; if you don't focus on that, everything else has the potential to breakdown."
