Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry make nice for Nahla

Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry are apparently giving peace a chance.

The combative exes — who have been locked in a bitter custody battle over their 4-year-old daughter, Nahla, since January 2011 — went on a family outing Monday to a pumpkin patch in Moorpark, California. Showing that the ice hasn't completely thawed, Berry, 46, and Aubry, 36, kept their distance during the fall harvest trip — and were not photographed together. However, they were both there at the same time with their little pumpkin.

In the majority of the pics, Berry, who is now engaged to Olivier Martinez and planning to move to his native France, is seen doting on Nahla. After picking out some new Halloween decorations together, the actress then helped Nahla get onto a kiddie ride, and snapped photos of the girl riding a toy cow. Meanwhile, French-Canadian model Aubry, who was dressed in jeans, a plaid shirt, and black hat, walked around sipping on a water bottle and clutching his own Halloween decorations — a variety of gourds. It is unclear what type of interaction he had with the ladies, but he came and left in a car by himself.

Berry and Aubry met at a Versace store opening in Manhattan in 2006. Two years later, Nahla was born. Although they initially remained on friendly terms following their 2010 split, things turns nasty in early 2011 and Aubry made a legal bid for joint custody. That set off a public war of words with Berry attacking Aubry's parenting skills, saying she had "serious concerns for her daughter's well-being" when Nahla was with him. Aubry hit back saying he was "disappointed in Halle's decision to falsely malign him publicly." When Berry started seeing Martinez, things quieted down, but when Berry announced she wanted to move to France with her fiancé, Los Angeles-based Aubry objected. In August, the exes appeared in court, but they are still waiting for the judge to make a ruling in the case.

Outside of her personal drama, Berry has some movie drama in the works as well. The Academy Award winning actress has recently been getting attention for her upcoming role in "Cloud Atlas." Similar to many of the lead actors in the film, Berry plays several different characters in different eras. For one of the roles, Berry, who is biracial, plays a white woman, and looks drastically different with blond hair and a prosthetic nose. She also plays an old Korean male doctor at one point in the film.

"Cloud Atlas" hits theaters on October 26, but while relations between Berry and Aubry seem to be getting better, we highly doubt he'll get an invite to the premiere.
