Denise Richards and her daughters take Manhattan

Denise Richards' daughters love New York.

The single mom has been on an extended stay in the Big Apple while she shoots the pilot for "Socio," an ABC Family drama. Despite a hurricane and a nor'easter, Richards and her three girls sure are having a blast.

On Thursday, the 41-year-old actress brought all three of her little ladies to lunch at the upscale Italian restaurant Nello, which was followed by a visit to the American Museum of National History. Richards had her hands full with youngest Eloise, giving the 1-year-old a lift, while older daughters Sam, 8, and Lola, 7, walked a few steps behind — in their cute little winter boots.

Richards and the girls arrived in New York City last month and have become quite the city kids, which the star mom has been documenting on Twitter. They've visited the Children's Museum of Manhattan, shopped at Build-A-Bear Workshop, volunteered at an animal shelter to help pets rescued during Hurricane Sandy, and experienced the first snowfall of the year.

After one of their many outings, Richards tweeted, "Great day with the kids. I think they want to move here. :)"

If Richards' TV show gets picked up, perhaps they'll be visiting more often. "Socio," which has been filming north of Manhattan in Westchester and Rockland counties, is about a woman named Karen (Richards) whose teenager returns home after serving five years in prison for a murder he committed at age 11. While her son Danny (Avan Jogia) struggles to readjust to life in the community, so does Karen, who was shunned after her son went to jail.

With Richards shooting heavy material like that, it's no surprise she appears to be happy while spending quality time with her girls!
