Beyonce ‘Feels More Empowered Than Ever’

Beyonce has only been 30 for three weeks, but it's already her "best birthday year ever," the songstress told omg! at the launch for her third perfume, Pulse, in New York City recently. "Everything that I always wanted is happening," she admitted. "It happens in God's time, and I am happy it is happening now. It is the best time of my life."

The release of her new perfume, the recent success of her House of Dereon fashion line in London, and platinum sales of her latest album,4, probably have something to do with her happiness, but there's another project in the works she's even more excited about -- her future bundle of joy. Less than a month ago, the pop singer revealed she and famous husband Jay-Z are expecting.

"The fact that I am a woman is such a gift. And I am about to give the biggest gift a human can ever have," she gushed. "I just feel so strong. It is like a miracle."

And the "Love on Top" singer has no doubt she's got the perfect partner with whom to raise a family. "To have a strong foundation for my child has always been so important for me," she explained. "I am really best friends with the person that I am having this child with."

When it comes to her business endeavors, including her line of fragrances, Bey says she looked to some Hollywood legends for inspiration. "I just think about Elizabeth Taylor and all of the icons that I respect, and they have their own scent[s]. I think it is a part of being an icon," she said. "For me to be one of those women, I don't take it lightly."

That sense of responsibility toward her fans definitely defines her business-savvy attitude. "I know when I decided to do a fragrance, I wanted to find the right partners and make sure it was something that came from my heart, and it wasn't just something I put my name on," she explained. "We worked really hard together and they have great perfumers and designers, but I don't let anyone dictate to me what my fragranceis supposed to smell like."

With a citrus gourmand classification, and notes of Madagascar vanilla, citrus, and bluebird orchid, Beyonce describes the scent aswarm, electric, and sophisticated. "I believe all women have that sensuality and power within them, and hopefully this fragrance can enhance that, bring that out, and leave a lasting impression on everyone you passby," she said. "For me, [perfume] is the last accessory when I get ready. It makes me feel so confident."

And don't expect pregnancy to slow this confident beauty down. Next up: B is teaming up with legendary director Clint Eastwood to remake the iconic Barbra Streisand movie, "A Star Is Born." Despite her own celebrity status, the humble A-lister still gets nervous talking to Mr.Eastwood. "I can't help it! I just respect him so much," she noted."I admire him so much, and it is a dream that we'll be working together."

The project is slated to start next year, and Beyonce spilled the news that her pregnancy won't be pushing back the production schedule, adding that the team is still working on casting a male lead and writing the script. Leading lady Beyonce, meanwhile, is gearing up to start working on the film's tunes. "There is a lot of music in it, so it is actually great timing. I am actually about to start recording the sound track next month."

She's got 16 Grammy awards, three fragrances, a clothing line, a starring role in the remake of an iconic film, and a baby on the way --is there anything she can't do? Maybe "Run This World" really is Beyonce's life mantra.
