Now that Jessica Simpson is no longer pregnant, mom-to-be Alyson Hannigan is ready to fill her designer shoes! Following the announcement that Maxwell Drew Johnson was born earlier this week, the "How I Met Your Mother" actress offered her well wishes to the "Fashion Star" mentor while also slipping in a one-liner that has been getting, well, belly laughs.
"Congrats to Jessica Simpson!" Hannigan, 38, tweeted on Tuesday. Adding, "Does this mean I now have the biggest baby bump in Hollywood?"
Hannigan, who is due in June, is among the many pregnant stars in contention for the unofficial, totally fake title of Biggest Baby Bump in Hollywood. (Kourtney Kardashian, Neve Campbell, Uma Thurman, and Elizabeth Berkley are all due around the same time. ) The actress, who can also be seen in "American Reunion" is expecting her second child with her husband Alexis Denisof. Their daughter Satyana is 3.
During an appearance on the "Rachael Ray Show" in April, Hannigan seemed to let it slip that she's having another girl. Telling a story about the unborn child, she said, "The other night, she — ahhh, you know... ," tripping over her words. She then continued the story: "I was laying there sleeping and the baby was jumping around. I said, 'I feel like a popcorn popper! What happened to the miracle of life? I'm still very appreciative and love it, but I just want to go to sleep so can you just settle down?'" The experience inspired a possible baby name: "I might name it Popcorn."
Hannigan says that strangers keep asking her if she's expecting twins. "The last couple of times I've been at stores people have been like, 'Oh, you're ready to pop, right?'" she told Ray. "I'm like, 'Actually, I have a couple more months. Somebody said, 'You're sure there's not two?'" The funny girl then cracked, "I keep asking my doctor the same thing."
