Zac Efron Is a GQ Man

Zac Efron may be a teen heartthrob, but he's growing up -- fast! The 21-year-old hits the big screen in "17 Again" on April 17, and now he's being featured in the latest issue of GQ. Although Zac neglected to mention his girlfriend, Vanessa Hudgens, while being interviewed by Alex Pappademas, the young actor did open up about a lot of other things. Read on to get a preview:

... On His Parents and His Hollywood Dreams
"They completely believed there was a one-in-a-billion chance I would ever be successful. And that was ingrained in the back of my head: I will fail. I'm going to fail. They managed my expectations. I was always prepared to fail. So it was kind of confusing when things started to work out."

... On Life Being Like "High School Musical"
At some point, Zac's acting started to get in the way of his schoolwork, and he found himself torn between his ambitions as a performer and his life as a normal high school kid. "This is so stupid, but it was kinda like ... kinda like 'High School Musical.' "

... On His Career
"Most parts you'd want, people won't really consider you for, because you have to earn that respect. The things people do want you for are usually not things you want to do. At one point, somebody said to me, 'What do you wanna do? A cool crime drama? Do you wanna shoot up heroin? We'll do anything you wanna do ... the Musical.' "

... On Makeup and False Eyelashes
Although he did dye his hair silver "to look like SisQo in the 'Thong Song' video" when he was a kid, Zac denies that he now wears makeup in public. "People just constantly think I'm wearing makeup. I have never worn false eyelases in my entire life." Guyliner? "No!"

... On Marriage
"I'm definitely not getting married. In this business, you're either getting married or they want you to be pregnant. I'm not getting married until I'm 40. If ever ... Maybe not 40. Maybe not until I'm 30."

... On Drinking
"I wasn't programmed by Disney. It's common sense. If you're gonna be drunk with your friends, don't get wasted at Chateau Marmont and hook up with some famous chick."
