‘Teen Choice’ Highlights Include A Singing Ashton Kutcher Dissed By Fergie

The Teen Choice Awards -- replete with surfboards, shrieking and adolescent text-message-speak ("C Demi Lovato in 10," etc.) -- were handed out tonight, with the usual suspects ("Twilight," "Glee," "Harry Potter" and their stars) taking home prizes.

But not everything was by the book. Here are some of the night's buzziest moments:

-- Ashton Kutcher won the first award of the night, for Choice Romantic Comedy Actor ("No Strings Attached"), and led the crowd in a rendition of Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream." Kutcher's command of the lyrics was impressive and his enthusiasm paid off, with the likes of Nina Dobrev and Taylor Swift joining in

-- Fergie did not seem too pleased by Kutcher's win, making a throat slitting gesture after his name was announced, likely as a playful response to husband Josh Duhamel's loss in the category:

Other highlights of the night included:

-- Selena Gomez (who nabbed Choice Female Hottie) and Justin Bieber (Choice Male Hottie) were the reigning prince and princess of the night, sitting in the front row, often with Bieber's arm draped around her. Few moments during the telecast were not followed by a pan to the teen royals. And during Gomez's performance of "Love You Like A Love Song," Bieber and Taylor Swift (who was sitting next to them) were seen dancing and singing along. Their PDA throughout the night should put to rest the break-up rumors floating around as of late.

-- For the older set attending the show, tonight presented a chance to bring the kids along. Both David Beckham and Mark Wahlberg were seen in the audience with their young children in tow. (Beckham's weeks-old daughter Harper was at home, presumably with mom Victoria.)

-- After sustaining serious injuries in a jet ski accident, Sean Kingston made his first public appearance since the May incident and seemed to be in fairly good spirits. (He presented an award to buddy Bieber, who greeted him on stage with an enthusiastic hug.)
