Speidi Elopes … But Will It Last?

Finally, it was the moment "Hills" fans have been waiting for (cue the eye roll): Heidi Montag (22) and Spencer Pratt (25) got hitched. Since the reality "stars" reportedly eloped while vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, MTV viewers unfortunately didn't get to see the duo pledge their undying love for one another on-screen. But they can see the wedding pics and get a blow-by-blow account of the nuptials in the new issue of Us Weekly. "The minute we said our vows, I couldn't stop crying," Heidi tells the mag....

Wait -- when you elope, doesn't that mean you run off secretly to be married? Since Speidi tied the knot on November 19, and Us Weekly is running their wedding pics not even a week later, I'm guessing the publication knew all about the nuptials way beforehand. How sad that Speidi told Us' Editor Janice Min the good news before their own parents!

Well, now that I think of it, in an interview with Kate Aurthur of the Los Angeles Times, Spencer noted that, "Janice Min at Us Weekly is like a family member to us. We love her. If my mom and her are emailing me at the same time, I'm like, 'Uh, Janice or my mom?'" It makes sense. Since the reality couple constantly grace the pages of Min's magazine, the editor has been pretty essential in their rise to stardom. Where would Speidi be without her?

Regardless, Heidi's sister Holly admitted that she was hurt she didn't know anything about the wedding plans, and so was their mom, Darlene. "I knew they were down in Cabo, but I had no idea what was going on," Holly revealed on "The Hills" after show on Monday night. "I never would've expected [a wedding]. We were frantically calling [Heidi]. Everybody's pretty upset."

And a little confused. "She's very religious," added Holly. "She always wanted to have a big wedding in a church. We talked abut being each other's maids of honor. But whatever makes her happy."

Spencer and Heidi's relationship has certainly had its ups and downs, so it's fitting that their marriage would create a little drama as well. "Obviously we're entertainers." Heidi told the LA Times in May. "We are trying to entertain in every aspect of our lives. Whether it's on the show or in the tabloids."
