The Sound of ‘Jersey Shore’ Mania

In just five short months, the cast of MTV's latest fantastically bad reality show has conquered TV and even captured the attention of President Obama, who deadpanned at Saturday's Washington, D.C. Correspondents' Dinner that his health care bill would exempt Snooki, JWoww, and The Situation from paying taxes on indoor tanning. That's right, even our commander-in-chief knows our guidos and guidettes just wouldn't be the same without their fake-bake glow!

And now that they have us hooked, the network and its gang of badly-behaved beach bums plan to make the most of their time in the spotlight. MTV and Universal Republic Records will release a soundtrack featuring Lil Jon, Akon, Taio Cruz, and, best of all, LMFAO, the geniuses behind the show's impossible-not-to-dance-to opening song, "Get Crazy."

Seriously, just try to watch the opening credits without moving! I usually find myself compulsively imitating Snooki's feminized fist pump.

Fans will be able to buy two versions of the album -- a standard copy and a deluxe one, with "Get Crazy" and more songs inspired by the first batch of episodes. Both hit stores July 20, just ahead of the July 29 premiere of the second season.

But "Jersey Shore" diehards will be able to buy the first single from the soundtrack, "I Like It," by Enrique Iglesias (!) featuring Pitbull in just three weeks on May 25. If you can't wait, you can also catch a preview of the song over at MTV News right now, but ... come on, you can wait for Enrique Iglesias.
