Selena Casts Her Vote

Like a typical 16-year-old, Selena Gomez went to the mall this weekend, but this trip was to do more than buy a new pair of shoes or an iPhone. The "Wizards of Waverly Place" star was at the Glendale Galleria in Los Angeles lending her support to the ironically-named UR Votes Count, a nationwide initiative to get teens, even those too young to vote, interested in politics and this November's presidential election.

"I think it's so important for kids to vote and be heard," Selena Gomez said in support of the UR Votes Count initiative. "Being a teen myself, I think it's really important we are educated on the issues that affect us all so when we're eligible, we're fully prepared to take on one of our greatest privileges and responsibilities -- voting."

You can visit the UR Votes Count website to share your opinion on important issues, including who you think should be the next president. You can also find more UR Votes Counts events happening across the U.S. so you can cast your "vote" just like Selena did. If you happen to be old enough to vote, you can still join in on the fun and find out how to register to vote in the next election, or if you want to save yourself a click, go directly to Declare Yourself and make sure you don't miss out on having your voice heard this November!
