Rumer Has It

Celebrity websites regularly knock Rumer Willis, saying her only claim to fame is being the celebuspawn of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis. But come January, she'll have her moment in the spotlight, or at least slightly behind and to the right of it.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced last week that Rumer will be Miss Golden Globe 2009. Her very important task? Escorting the presenters and winners off the stage.

The title is bestowed each year to the offspring of an established actor. Former Miss Golden Globes that have gone on to have successful acting careers include Melanie Griffith and Laura Dern. There even is the occasional Mr. Golden Globe -- Freddie Prinze Jr. held the title in 1996.

Rumer was supposed to be Miss Golden Globes 2008, but the event was canceled last minute due to a strike by the Writer's Guild of America.

At least the 20-year-old aspiring actress is working on her career, unlike say ... Courtenay Semel, and actually has a few acting credits to her name.

Check out this behind-the-scenes clip of Rumer and Katharine McPhee from "The House Bunny," which comes out on DVD today, December 19!
