Kicking off season 4 of "Gossip Girl," our favorite TV fashionistas -- Leighton Meester (Blair) and Blake Lively (Serena) -- find themselves on a girls' trip to Paris for a bit of retail therapy. Where better to get over a broken heart than the most romantic city in the world, right?
Though the drama that ensued at the end of season 3 was just a tad overwrought for my taste, I'm hoping "Gossip" gets back to its fabulously snarky roots this year -- and from our first look at the episodes taped in the City of Light, the girls' wardrobes are not going to disappoint viewers this season either.
From Serena's pale pink Georges Chakra cage-style dress, long gray blazer and straw hat, to Blair's fab, fruit-inspired combo of a cherry-print top and apple-print skirt, the ladies' style is swoon-worthy as usual. Imagine how much fun it would be walking out the door every day looking like you're dressed for a fashion shoot? And even though they probably have to give the clothes back at the end of each scene, they get a whole new outfit (or three) to play with the next day!
Adding intrigue to the season 4 opener, Ed Westwick was also spotted shooting scenes in Paris. We can't wait to see how they explain this one, as we last saw his character Chuck Bass getting mugged and shot in the season 3 finale! The Daily Mail reports that gorgeous French "Harry Potter" star Clemence Poesy will play Chuck's love interest in the first few episodes. Ooh la la!
As well as doing duty on her day job, Blake Lively also managed to squeeze in a little play time at Paris Fashion Week. The leggy beauty was spotted sitting front row next to iconic Vogue editor Anna Wintour at the Dior show Monday, and was also snapped heading out of the Ritz hotel accompanied by Chanel's creative director Karl Lagerfeld later that evening.
With two of the most powerful names in the business showing her favor, Blake is basically in fashion heaven right now, and we'd place bets on her scoring another Vogue cover in the near future. Can you believe she's already had two? Let's hope the pretty blonde can maintain her foothold on the pedestal of style -- some past recipients (Sienna Miller, Mischa Barton, anyone?) have found that it's a rather slippery foothold to maintain.
