Madonna’s daughter Lourdes blogs about her summer job folding underwear

Life as the eldest daughter of a music legend isn't all designer clothes, fancy vacations, and pricey private schools. Madonna's 16-year-old daughter, Lourdes Leon, was working hard for her money over the summer — folding underwear.

Yes, we said folding underwear.

In the blog she writes for her mother's Material Girl junior clothing line, Leon — who goes by Lola — shared details about her summer job, working in the wardrobe department during Madonna's world tour. "I thought I would tell you all about the joys of folding underwear," wrote Leon, showing traces of her famous mom's sense of humor. "As you probably know, this woman I like to call my mother went on tour for her MDNA album. As a summer job, I decided to work in the wardrobe department. All of my friends were getting summer jobs and I wanted one too. Mine was a little unconventional, but still a great experience and a lot of fun. Being in the wardrobe department meant me and a few other girls dressed the dancers during the show when they had quick changes. Thirty seconds to totally dress a sweaty dancer can be insane and provoke mucho anxiety. Doing this night after night was pretty cray, but I loved every minute of it!"

Although Leon has clearly lived a life of privilege, she seemed genuinely impressed by what she saw during her tour travels — as well as the people she met along the way. "Besides being able to travel the world and visiting all these amazing countries (my favorites were Amsterdam, Copenhagen, and Turkey), it's really a great experience to be able to work on a large production, traveling around like a family, setting up for an amazing show, and all having the same purpose," noted the teen, whose father is Madonna's ex Carlos Leon. "I developed really good relationships with a number of people, not just in wardrobe but in other departments too. Dancers, singers, sound crew, catering, etc. To be able to be a part of such an inspiring production was one of my best summers so far."

In the post, Leon also posted some behind-the-scenes photos of the tour, including Madonna's padded blue makeup chair, and shots of the extensive wardrobes for the dancers.

Now back in school — she attends New York City's prestigious public school LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts — Leon concluded her blog post by offering advice to her peers. "Hope all of you guys had and are having a great start to your school year. Always remember to choose hugs not drugs because THAT'S always been MY motto," wrote Leon, who famously angered her mother when she was photographed smoking a cigarette earlier this year. And again showing a sassy side that just seems so Madonna, Leon ended her note with, "Stay in school b--ches and make sure you are getting proper nutrients all day urrday."

Although her blogging makes big headlines, Leon celebrated her Sweet 16 under the radar earlier this month. While visiting her mom on tour in Vegas, she and a half-dozen friends hit up the Stratosphere, where they ate chocolate cake at the Top of the World restaurant, then went and giggled their way through three of the thrill rides, including the X-Scream, Insanity, and Big Shot — which sounds much better than folding underwear.
