Justin Bieber graduates from high school

Justin Bieber may think the Sistine Chapel is actually called the "Sixteenth Chapel," but he's now officially a high school graduate. The "Boyfriend" singer received a diploma from St. Michael Catholic Secondary School in his Canadian hometown of Stratford, Ontario, on June 28. Although he did not attend the ceremony, Bieber was listed amongst the 192 students in the graduation program.

In May, the 18-year-old bragged to The Daily Telegraph that he had completed his studies. "I passed my test — I'm free!" he said at the time. "It was hard doing school and work every day." But he did it for his mother, Pattie Mallette, who was just a teen herself when she gave birth to the future pop star. Graduating, he has said, "was something my mom really wanted me to do. I mean, this kind of lifestyle has given me a different perspective on life. I've been able to travel the world. At school, usually you have to do a lot of writing and reading. I'm really not into that stuff. I like to be out there."

And he will soon be out there doing what he does best. Bieber kicks off the North American leg of his "Believe" tour on September 29. The 76-date jaunt will also take him through Europe before ending in Sweden in April 2013.
