‘Glee’: Sarah Jessica Parker’s role revealed

Once again, actress Sarah Jessica Parker will play a woman working for Vogue magazine when she appears on Fox's "Glee" this fall. Fans of "Sex and the City" will remember that Parker's most famous character, Carrie Bradshaw, penned freelance articles at $4 per word for the Anna Wintour-helmed fashion bible. This time, however, she'll be "running Vogue.com," "Glee" co-creator and executive producer Ian Brennan reveals. "That's sort of where we encounter this character, who's sort of frazzled, eccentric, hilarious. It's gonna be good." SJP, who is set to guest star on several "Glee" episodes, will encounter Lea Michele's character Rachel and Chris Colfer's character Kurt, who've both graduated from the New Directions and moved to NYC. No word yet on whether Parker will sing and dance, but she's certainly done so before. The wife of Broadway and film actor Matthew Broderick is almost as familiar with the stage as her hubby, famously playing "Annie" on "The Great White Way" as a child.

"Glee's" fourth season will also introduce "Gleeks" to a couple of new series regulars who are seriously easy on the eyes! Jacob Artist, 19, will play the younger half-brother of Mark Salling's character Puck. While the show is notoriously secretive about which performances are coming up in its repertoire, Artist recently confessed to Zap2it that he's hoping one particular tune makes it into an episode. "I sang 'Never Say Never' by The Fray for my audition, and I love that song — it's such a great song — so I'd love if they could throw that in there somewhere at some point." Dean Geyer, 26, has the more controversial role as Rachel's new love interest now that she Finn have gone their separate ways. "He's definitely been through the ropes. He's a couple years older [than Rachel] and has done Broadway before and that's something she really looks up to and is aspiring to," Geyer recently explained to The Hollywood Reporter. There's room in there to be a bit of a teacher and mentor rather than a love interest so it could go that way. It's definitely going to be fun for me since I started out as a musician. I've never done Broadway or theater, so it's going to be a new experience for me."

Kate Hudson is set to appear on upcoming episodes of "Glee," too. The "Almost Famous" actress will play Cassandra July, Rachel's dance teacher at the New York Academy of the Dramatic Arts, where she is studying. Reportedly, Hudson will show off her singing and dancing skills again, as she did in 2009's "Nine."

The new season of "Glee" airs Thursday, September 13 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
