Dakota and Elle Fanning’s Sister Act

In some ways, Dakota and Elle Fanning seem like any other teens. The sisters, ages 17 and 13, wear uniforms to school and borrow each other's clothes -- sometimes without permission.

But the truth, of course, is that the girls are big-time actresses with a long list of movies coming up, including the next "Twilight" and an indie flick for Dakota, and Cameron Crowe's "We Bought a Zoo" and Francis Ford Coppola's "Twixt Now and Sunrise" for Elle. Dakota's co-stars have included Sean Penn, Tom Cruise, and Denzel Washington to name a few, and Elle starred in this summer's Steven Speilberg-produced blockbuster "Super 8." Even acting in big-budget films has a bit of normalcy at this point. As Dakota explains in the new Vogue, "I've been working since I was 6, Elle since 2. What you grow up with is what you become used to."

Other plans on the horizon for the girls are much more, well, ordinary. Big sis Dakota, who was a cheerleader and last year's homecoming queen at Campbell Hall School in North Hollywood, California, has enrolled at New York University to study psychology in the fall. She says living in the city on her own will be "different and scary, but everyone does it!" Dakota adds, "And it'll be nice to have a space that's just my own. I can have Hello Kitty ice trays, and no one can tell me I can't."

Meanwhile, Elle already has designs on Dakota's room at home. It'll be "a huge room for me -- or maybe a game room!"

And just like that ... they're back to just being two sisters.
