Leona Lewis is "Bleeding Love" for animals in need.

A long-time supporter of Hopefield Animal Sanctuary in Brentwood, England, the 27-year-old hosted and performed at the organization's Christmas fete over the weekend. The British singer — who kept warm in a plaid coat and Hunter boots — has been an avid fundraiser for the animal refuge, which cares for 200 sick, unwanted, and mistreated animals.

Lewis arrived at the holiday bash with a couple of special friends in tow, including fellow U.K. "The X Factor" winner Matt Cardle (who performed some tunes) and her dog Lilly. The animal lover dressed up her prized pup as a reindeer for the event, which, in addition to music, included games and gift ideas. The brown-and-white dog is often showcased on Lewis' Facebook and Twitter pages, and accompanies her to photo shoots and other industry events, so she's a bit of V.I.P. (Very Important Pooch) in the celeb pet world.

While at the charity event, Lewis also visited a horse named Jack, posing happily next to his stable. As an equestrian, she's a big fan of horses and told The Guardian in October that they are "100 percent" better than people, adding, "They're so amazing and ethereal. I could hang with horses all day."

The "Lovebird" singer has also said she wishes humans were more like animals in a physical way. "Do you know what? I wish that humans had tails because then you would know what they were really thinking," she told You this month. "If you and I had tails now we would know exactly how each other was feeling — you can always tell by animals' tails whether they are happy or sad or angry. It would make human relations so much easier. We can lie because we can talk and we don't have tails," adding she'd prefer hers to be "dip-dyed" like her hair.

Lewis with a dip-dyed tail? Now that we'd like to see. But for now, we'll happily settle for photos of her dog dressed like a reindeer.
