There's nothing like getting your big moment in front of 43.7 million people, and having the person introducing you butcher your name. Just slay it. So instead of dazzling with your beautiful performance, the audience is busy whispering or tweeting: Adele Dazeem?!

That was Idina Menzel's fate on March 3, Oscar night. The Broadway darling, who voiced snow queen Elsa in "Frozen," performed her soaring ballad "Let It Go," which went on to win Best Original Song. John Travolta – the one who royally botched her intro — became the butt of countless Twitter jokes in the days that followed.

There were two ways for Idina, 42, to carry herself in that uncomfortable situation. She could have let it ruin her night, or her performance, or her life. The other option, which she wisely selected, was to, well, "Let It Go." And not only did she exhibit class and grace during the awkward situation, she became a bonafide Internet sensation thanks to it. Check out seven reasons why we are crowning the brunette dynamo the Best Person on the Internet This Month.

1. The girl can sing. Duh! Once everyone stopped laughing at John Travolta, Oscar viewers were in for a treat with her performance of "Let It Go." She blew away the audience and earned a standing ovation from the superstar crowd. Since then, the song broke the top 10 on Billboard's Hot 100 — she's the first Tony winner to crack the list — and it has sold more than 1.8 million downloads.

2. Even when backed with classroom instruments. The day after the show, she appeared on "The Tonight Show" and made beautiful music with Jimmy Fallon and The Roots.

3. She's extremely forgiving. Talking about the incident to Billboard, Idina, who said Travolta sent her flowers and emailed her personally after issuing his public apology, again showed her gracefulness. "[It] threw me for a minute," she admitted, "but then I just got back on track and reminded myself of where I was. As for the "Killing Season" star, "He was really gracious and sent this gorgeous email, and we're buddies and it's all cool." As we said, classy!

4. She has incredible range. Not only does she shine while catering to the tween and under crew voicing Elsa in "Frozen," playing Nancy in "Enchanted," and going green as Elphaba in Broadway's "Wicked," her new show on the Great White Way, "If/Then," is saucy. The musical, which she helped develop, is about a 40-ish woman at a crossroads. (\Not unlike Idina herself, who, in addition to this newfound megastardom, is going through a divorce from her "Rent" co-star Taye Diggs, with whom she has a son. The show’s plot includes a surprise pregnancy and a racy song ("What the F--k") about trying to bed three men in one evening.

5. Oh, yeah — did we mention she's starring on Broadway. "If/Then" opened March 30, marking her highly anticipated return to Broadway. (It's been nine years since she was in "Wicked.") The show reunites her with "Rent" originals Anthony Rapp and director Michael Greif, and Idina is said to be at the top of her game. As in — maybe she should dust off her shelf that houses her first Tony because there could be another one coming.

6. She has a fierce fan base. Her fans have a name — Fanzels — and she says they are largely responsible for the eruption after the name mix-up. "[The incident] showed how many people had been supporting me through the years," Menzel told USA Today. "They wanted to make sure people knew my name — and that made me feel really good."

7. The "Adele Dazeem" debacle has made her more popular than ever. Though she's had a successful Broadway career, released four albums, and has appeared on several TV shows — including playing Lea Michele's mother on "Glee" — her popularity and name recognition soared after the broadcast. Adele Dazeem became a global trending topic on Twitter on Oscar night and, naturally, parody accounts were started. The Internet exploded with memes like this one. Slate launched their Adele Dazeem Name Generator, which allowed people to "Travoltify" their own name. Celebrities even got in on the fun, including Jessica Biel (aka "Jennifer Borfes"), Jesse Tyler Ferguson ("Joe Tayzlor"), and Kat Dennings ("Kurt Dorniels"). Somebody even Travoltifyed Travolta's name — "Jan Thozomas." The day after the show, nearly every late-night talk show host included an Idina or Adele mention in their monologues.

"Please. I mean, I've only benefited from it," Idina told Billboard when asked about the name flub. And while she's tried hard over the years to cross over from Broadway to mainstream, she's decided she's going to sit back and ride this wave. "Maybe people didn't know me before John Travolta f--ked up my name, but I'm not going to chase anything anymore. Every time I've ever tried to do that, I've missed it. When you sit back and you just do what you love, things happen."

Things are definitely happening — and that's why she's our Best Person on the Internet for March. May her success — and Twitter following — continue to grow.
