Why KISS Rocker Paul Stanley Didn't Invite Gene Simmons to His Wedding

Kiss's Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley have been rocking out on stage for over 40 years together, and, surprisingly, they are still close friends. But the friendship hasn't been without some drama. "The Insider" correspondent Keltie Knight chatted with Paul, aka the Starchild, and he revealed why he didn't invite Gene to his 2005 wedding to Erin Sutton.

“Gene had been very, very vocal about not only dismissing the idea of marriage, but really have a very disrespectful and demeaning attitude towards people who did." he said. "So for me, it really came down to you don't belong at my wedding. It would taint it. It would do something, it would be contradictory, and for me, that would be offensive. He understood. Lo and behold, he got married, too."

Even though the Kiss front-man didn't attend Paul's wedding, it doesn't seem to have affected their friendship. The friends even live close to each other. Paul explained, "Gene lives literally 2 minutes down the road. I always tell people that I can see his ego from here. We've never gotten along better."

Not only has their personal-professional relationship survived all these years, but Paul also believes that the band's success relies on one another.

"Gene's and my successes seem to be hand-in-hand, and neither one of us on our own will ever do what we've done as a team." Paul explained. "I often say that we see each other as brothers. We just seem to have a difference of opinion of how you treat your brother. But we've been together forty-plus years, so it's fine."

Well we hope that they continue performing together for more years to come. Check out this video for more candid comments from Paul Stanley, and tune in to "The Insider With Yahoo" for the latest in entertainment news.
