Actress Laura Linney is playing mom for the first time.
"The Big C" star and her husband, real estate agent Marc Schauer, welcomed a baby boy on Jan. 8, her rep confirms to Yahoo.
The birth is surprising because Linney is a little older than most first-time mothers — and she never announced that she was expecting!
Now that her son has arrived, the little one has been named Bennett Armistead Schauer.
Sounds like a name fit for the PBS series that Linney introduces each week, "Downton Abbey"! However, the middle name is more likely an ode to author Armistead Maupin. The Emmy Award-winning actress starred in the Showtime miniseries based on the writer's "Tales of the City" novels.
Congrats to Laura and Marc!
