Suri Cruise’s Jet-Setting Holiday

Suri Cruise had a jam-packed itinerary over the Christmas holiday!

The 6-year-old spent quality time with both her parents, exes Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise, this week. The festivities kicked off after Holmes, 34, took her curtain call Sunday following her performance in Broadway’s “Dead Accounts.” She and her only child then left their posh New York City apartment to catch a flight to Ohio, where they spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with Holmes’ family in her hometown of Toledo.

"There was never a doubt that Katie would have Suri for Christmas morning," an insider told Us Weekly of the custody arrangement for the holidays. (Holmes was granted primary custody in the couples’ divorce settlement over the summer; Cruise has visitation rights.) "Katie thinks getting Suri out of the city is healthy for her – seeing how life is outside of their world there." A Holmes insider described the mother-daughter duo’s Christmas – which was white thanks to a Christmas Eve snowfall – as "wonderful."

After exchanging gifts – and perhaps singing some Christmas carols with the fam – Holmes and Suri said farewell to the Buckeye State, but went their separate ways. For the actress, it was back to NYC in time for a matinee performance on Wednesday afternoon. Meanwhile, Suri headed west to reunite with her father and siblings, Bella, 20, and Connor, 17. On Wednesday, Cruise’s private jet was spotted in snowy Telluride, Colorado, according to People, which is where the 50-year-old movie star owns a 210-acre ranch. Suri is quite familiar with the family vacation spot. When she was first born, Holmes and Cruise spent the entire summer there, hiking the trails surrounding the ski town. It’s also where Suri had her debut photo shoot – she was photographed by Vanity Fair magazine on the sprawling property.

Cruise gave viewers a glimpse of his gorgeous getaway home in 2008 when he invited Oprah Winfrey there to interview him. When Oprah, who has seen (and owns) many magnificent properties, pulled up outside of Cruise’s house and looked at the stunning view of the mountains, she stopped in her tracks and marveled, “I have never seen anything like this in my life. I swear I want to weep it’s so beautiful.” During the tour of the house, Cruise stopped in the dining room and talked about their Christmas celebrations there, noting, “We’ll have 25 people – elbow to elbow.” Other favorite Cruise family activities in Colorado include playing games and bundling up and heading outdoors to a fire pit, where they roast hot dogs.

Earlier this month, Cruise said he was looking forward to spending time with all of his children over the holidays. “We are all going to be together,” he told reporters at the London premiere of “Jack Reacher.” “We have got lots of very special things planned." Since the divorce he’s only seen Suri on a limited basis, but she did visit him in London over Thanksgiving.

When Suri returns to her life in the Big Apple with Holmes, there schedule is going to experience a slight change. It was announced on Thursday that “Dead Accounts” would be closing over a month early due to slow ticket sales. So it looks like Suri will have a little more time with mom … and perhaps more visits with dad as well.
