Sting’s Daughter Reveals ‘Shame’ for Wanting to Become an Actress

Yahoo Celebrity

Mickey Sumner, the stunning 29-year-old daughter of Sting and Trudie Styler, graces the pages of the May issue of Vanity Fair, and she's channeling her inner '50s bombshell. And while fame may have been the norm for the starlet growing up, she is ready to earn stardom in her own right.

The blond beauty made her official off-Broadway debut in the play "The Lying Lesson" in March, but the road to fame was long and hard. Sumner told the mag that as a child she was ashamed of her acting aspirations and tried to dismiss them. She admitted, "I had wanted to act since I was a kid, but I had a lot of shame attached to it. I didn't tell anyone because I didn't think it was ever a possibility."

Well, it seems that the rock legend's daughter faced her fear and has overcome the pressure to succeed. In March, she opened up to WWD about her healthy outlook on success and her career, saying, "I just have to remind myself -- it's a cliché -- but, it's a journey and you can only be good at something if you do it. It takes a lifetime to be great."
