Katy Perry has literally moved on from her marriage to Russell Brand.
The pop songstress has sold the house the couple called home during part of their 14-month marriage. The 8,835-square-foot, 3-acre property just off the Sunset Strip in L.A. brought in $5.65 million when it sold on Dec. 31, according to real estate website Redfin.

Although that's a pretty penny, Perry is actually losing money on the deal. She purchased the property for $6.5 million in June 2011 following her October 2010 nuptials with Brand. After he abruptly filed for divorce in December 2011, Perry put the home back on the market for a whopping $8 million. She ended up selling for less to a cash buyer because she “wanted more than anything for the house sale to be final,” her real estate agent told Zillow.
Sounds like the new buyer is getting a bargain! The Mediterranean-style residence, built in 1921, features a two-story living room overlooking the city and extending all the way to the ocean, as well as seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms.
In addition to the main house, there are two guest houses, including one that holds an apartment for the caretaker of the lavish estate.
Parking, which can be a problem in the City of Angels, isn't an issue, since the pad has a carriage house to store vehicles. Not that the owner will need to go anywhere. The former chez Perry even has its own lagoon-style swimming pool with a waterfall.
The listing also notes that the "entire property is double gated, rising high above the surrounding street, like a fortress."
Perry, 29, must be relieved to have put the last of the ill-fated union with Brand behind her. Just last month, she spoke to Marie Claire about how much she was hurting after the breakup.
"There were two weeks of my life after I found out the truth of my marriage where I was like, 'OK. All right. I can't feel this. This is too intense right now,'" she told the magazine. "I was, like, just eating Flamin' Hot Cheetos and drinking, and that's it."
Since the split, Perry has purchased two adjoining homes in the same neighborhood, near A-listers such as Sandra Bullock and Cameron Diaz.
The "Roar" singer has obviously moved on in her love life, too. She spent New Year's Eve in Las Vegas on a trip with her on-again, off-again boyfriend of more than a year, John Mayer.
