‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ Star Kandi Burruss Engaged to Todd Tucker

NeNe Leakes wasn’t the only “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star to get engaged over the New Year’s holiday.

Kandi Burruss, 36, has revealed she too got a diamond ring on New Year’s Day from boyfriend Todd Tucker, a line producer who works on the Bravo reality series, who popped the question after celebrating the big night with friends, including cast mate Phaedra Parks and her husband, Apollo Nida.

According to Us Weekly, Tucker first had to get the approval of her 11-year-old daughter, Riley, who had voiced her initial skepticism on the show about her mother’s man before eventually warming up to him –even baking him a birthday cake in a recent episode.

“Thanks to everyone that are sending their well wishes! @Todd167 & I appreciate the love from you all!” Burruss tweeted on Tuesday after the engagement news broke.

The happy couple has already narrowed down their big day to two different dates, she tells Us Weekly, and soon after they’re husband and wife, they hope there will be a baby carriage. "I used to make jokes with my friends that I [was] part of the Forever Single Club," she tells the magazine. "That's what I said before, but now I'm totally different."

Burruss, a Grammy-winning songwriter who has penned hits for Destiny's Child, Pink, and TLC, was previously engaged to A.J. Jewell during her debut season on “Real Housewives of Atlanta” in 2009. Jewell died in October of that year after sustaining head injuries during a brawl at an Atlanta-area nightclub.

Leakes and her ex-husband, Gregg, got engaged to re-marry just after midnight on New Year’s Day. The two first split in 2011, but on the current season of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” they have been seen working on reconciliation.

Double engagement, double wedding? Not likely … but probably double the Bravo wedding special!
