While performing at the Bestival 2013 in England last Friday, the Irish singer's large sunglasses shielded her eyes, but not the cheeky red "B" and "Q" tattoos (that may or may not be real) sitting just beneath them.
She addressed the permanent markings in a cryptic block post on her website titled "Face Tattoo" Wednesday — though she still left questions about their significance.
"Brendan Quinlan..'It's what it is'..Un ange passé ;)," she writes, adding, "There's a bottle of Agent Provocateur in someone's room that belongs to me."
"Un ange passé," a French expression, describes an awkward moment of silence … something O'Connor may be causing more of with her new facial art!
The identity of Quinlan is not yet known, though we highly doubt the ink is some sort of romantic gesture by the "Nothing Compares 2U" singer. O'Connor swore off public declarations of love after her last divorce — her fourth — in 2012 was written about extensively in the press. She blogged at the time, "I will never again associate myself romantically with anyone as I could not bear to see these things done again to someone I love."
Whatever the reason, O'Connor clearly felt strongly enough to want to think of Quinlan every time she looks in the mirror!
What do you think of the singer's new ink?
