9 Biggest Shockers of New York Fashion Week

Yahoo Celebrity

Much like the snow, Fashion Week blew through New York in a powerful, dramatic blitz.

And in the sea of famous faces, designer duds, and general mayhem of it all, you have to really do something dramatic to stand out. Fortunately, the stars delivered, despite the inclement weather. But since it's virtually impossible to be everywhere, all the time, we've created this handy list of the 9 most shocking moments from the week. Think of this as Cliff's Notes, but… like… a lot more stylish.

1. Kendall Jenner Walked in Marc Jacobs in a See-Through Shirt
Bruce Jenner isn't the only member of the family making waves with his looks. Kendall, 18, strutted her stuff on the Marc Jacobs catwalk in a top that left little to the imagination (and by left little to the imagination we mean her nips were on full display). That's not unusual for runway models (many of whom are younger than 18), we get it, but it's not exactly what we expect from a celebrity. Things got a bit more shocking when her mother, Kris Jenner, posted a picture for all the (non-fashion) world to see. We assume she considers this supportive, but it strikes us as just a wee bit odd. (It's also worth noting that we weren't alone in this sentiment and, after receiving Twitter backlash, it appears the momager has taken down the shot.) Also upping the unusual factor: Jessica Lange recited a decidedly eerie rendition of "Happy Days Are Here Again." No word on what she thought of Kendall's outfit.

2. A Streaker Disrupts Prabal Gurung
If there was ever any doubt that New York Fashion Week is the Super Bowl of style, it has been put to bed. A man dressed in a crown, a trench coat, red athletic socks, and a leopard thong jumped onto the runway right in front of (an unfazed) Anna Wintour and "Vampire Academy" starlet Sami Gayle. Though the streaker was quickly apprehended by security and whisked behind a curtain, his work was done. And for that, we thank him.

3. Anna Kendrick Is Everywhere
The "PItch Perfect" starlet attended at least a whopping 14 shows and events. This might be a new record. During her first fashion week, Anna Kendrick hit up Carolina Herrera, Kate Spade, Tory Burch, Monique Lhuillier, Miu Miu, Jill Stuart, Rebecca Minkoff, Jenny Packham, Guess, Milly, Alice + Olivia, Philosophy by Alberta Ferretti, Marchesa, and J.Mendel. Every show requires an outfit change and interviews and rubbing elbows with designers so after the first (manageable) few, they really start to add up. Still, the Kendrick handled it with style, looking flawless in every front row and cracking up her neighbors. Bravo, Anna. Bravo.

4. Lil Kim Is Pregnant
Lil' Kim is not so little anymore! The 39-year-old rapper caused quite a stir when she showed up at The Blonds show with a new accessory: a baby bump. While pretty much all other relevant details (such as the baby's sex, due date, and whom its daddy might be) remain unknown, Lil' Kim seems ready to become a mom — or as ready as she'll ever be.

5. Dakota Fanning Rocks Mismatched Shoes
Dakota Fanning is all grown up. The 19-year-old arrived for the Rodarte show clad in a super-low-cut, flesh-toned dress that showcased some serious cleavage. We all knew she wasn't just a child star anymore, but seriously — when did this happen? Lucky for her, eyes quickly moved away from her décolletage, as she sported a pair of funky, mismatched black-and-white pumps. Maybe she wanted to mix things up… or maybe she couldn't see her shoes because of, well, other things.

6. Kat Graham and Leigh Lezark Wear the Same Thing
In the world of Fashion Week, this can only be described as an epic fail. Both the "Vampire Diaries" star and the DJ showed up for the Jeremy Scott show wearing a very daring look consisiting of a bondage-style bra top and slinky pencil skirt. Fortunately, they at least wore different colors of the same outfit, but still. While Leigh opted for a black sequined style, Kat turned up the heat in a red snakeskin print. Lezark also sported strappy, open-toe heels, which (considering the snowstorm outside) pretty much blew our minds.

7. In Case You Hadn't Heard, the Weather Was Awful
We do realize this is normally the least exciting topic of conversation imaginable, but in this case, it warrants some discussion. In the midst of the runway shows, presentations, and parties, yet another Nor'Easter blasted through the city, nearly shutting it down. Icy roads, giant slushy puddles, and general grime covered pretty much every outdoor surface — which makes it that much more impressive that people made it out at all. Still, one glance at front row photos shows even the most highly-regarded fashionistas ditching stilettos for salt-stained snow boots.

8. "Star Wars" Couture, Sports-Inspired Snuggies, and Other Crazy Styles Hit the Runway
Isn't that what Fashion Week is really, truly all about? Sure we love the celeb-sightings and the gowns, but what's better than the joy of seeing seriously crazy clothes no sane person would ever actually wear? From Jeremy Scott's fuzzy dress that looked like a cross between a football jersey and a Snuggie, to Rodarte's Luke Skywalker-printed gown, to Alice + Olivia's Christopher Columbus-inspired hairdos, designers brought their nuttiest A-game.
