Naomi Watts is aggressive … and we don't mean when it comes to going after a film role she wants!

The "Diana" star is Allure's November cover girl, and in the latest issue, she recalls pursuing life partner Liev Schreiber at the Met Gala in 2005.

"It was a lot more ballsy than I would ever normally be," the actress reminisces. "Normally I want a guy to make the first move, and he wasn't. Then he got up to say he was leaving and I was like, 'Oh s--t. Probably another couple years are going to pass by.'"

She continues, "I was wildly attracted to him and his work, so I said something cheeky as he was about to walk out. I said, 'Don’t you want my digits?' Because I couldn't possibly say, 'Would you like my phone number?' It made him laugh. He texted me five minutes later saying, 'Would you like to go for a drink now?' And I said, 'No, I'll meet you for breakfast tomorrow.'"

Eight years later, Naomi and Liev have two children together — Alexander, 6, and Samuel, 4 — but are not married.

"It's complicated," the "Ray Donovan" actor said of their relationship status during an interview with Vulture in June, "and it's private, too."

In the same interview, Liev also talked about his first encounter with Naomi in 2005.

"When we met, I said to Naomi, 'I am really crazy about you, but I don't know that I can live in L.A., and is that okay?'" he shared. “Naomi forced [producers] to hire me [on the film 'The Painted Veil']. She wanted to continue our relationship, and the only way to do that was to take me on the road with her … We wanted to be together, and I’m decent enough to handle that role. It wasn’t, like, total nepotism."

Schreiber, 46, joked that he followed Naomi around for three years, “traveling the world and being manny to the children.”

Watts stars in the upcoming film "Diana," in which she portrays, of course, Diana, Princess of Wales. However, the 45-year-old actress had serious hesitations about taking on such an iconic role.

"I thought, everyone's going to jump to these comparisons: 'She's not tall enough.' 'She hasn’t got the nose.' 'She hasn't got the voice.' [I thought], it's not going to work, it's too scary. So I said no," Naomi reveals. "But for some reason, I didn't feel completely at peace with that decision. It was nerve wracking every step of the way until I was there, and then it was like, 'OK, now I'm just doing it.'"

"Diana" hits theaters in the U.S. on November 1. To read more of Naomi's interview, pick up the November issue of Allure, on newsstands October 22.
