Mick Jagger took a moment Tuesday to remember his late girlfriend L'Wren Scott, who would have been turning 51 had it not been for her tragic death a little more than a year ago.

"Remebering L'Wren on her birthday," Jagger wrote on Twitter alongside a photo of Scott, whom he dated from 2001 until March 17, 2014, when she committed suicide in her Manhattan apartment.

At the time of Scott's death, The Rolling Stones were touring in Australia. They immediately suspended the tour and Jagger immediately flew to the U.S.

"I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way," Jagger wrote on Facebook at the time. "We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves. She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me. I have been touched by the tributes that people have paid to her, and also the personal messages of support that I have received."

Jagger is now rumored to be dating 27-year-old ballerina Melanie Hamrick, though the two have kept their relationship fairly under wraps. Though they've been photographed together several times, they've never attended an event together as a couple.

Earlier this year, Jagger founded a fashion schlarship in honor of L'Wren Scott — a well known fashion designer — at Central Saint Martins School in London, which was run by Louise Wilson, a close friend of Scott's, until her death from breast cancer just two months after Scott's.
