Talk about a sweet life lesson!

British actor Tom Hiddleston — best known for playing super-villain Loki, the brother of Thor, in Marvel's "Thor" series and "The Avengers" — sat down with none other than "Sesame Street's" Cookie Monster to teach the furry blue guy a little bit about patience.

In a YouTube video (posted via his Twitter account), Hiddleston, 32, and the world's #1 cookie fan discuss the concept of "delayed gratification" — i.e. how much better a cookie will taste if you wait for it!

"Me want cookie," Cookie Monster declares when he sees Hiddleston with a cookie in his hand.

"This one's mine," the actor replies.

But don't worry. Eventually (spoiler alert!), Cookie Monster does indeed get a sweet treat.

"Doesn't it taste better if you're waiting?" Hiddleston asks.

"Yeah, thank you for teaching me that!" the blue beast replies.

But does Cookie Monster end up indulging in more than one cookie? Watch the video to find out!

In related casting news, Hiddleston just signed on Friday to star in director Guillermo del Toro's next film, the haunted house thriller "Crimson Peak," opposite Charlie "Christian Grey" Hunnam, Jessica Chastain, and Mia Wasikowska. He replaces Benedict Cumberbatch, who dropped out of the project. Congrats! Let's hope he brings lots of cookies to the set.
