Lindsay Lohan has faced a rocky few years transitioning from teenage star to adult actress, but more recently, she's clearly been focused on her career. Up until now, we assumed that mostly just meant acting and appearing on her Oprah-produced reality series for OWN, but it looks like that's not all LiLo has up her sleeve. Could she be returning to singing as well?
The 27-year-old, who has released two albums, first raised eyebrows by posting a pic of herself in a recording studio back in December. On Tuesday night, she was spotted belting out Stevie Nicks's hit "Edge of Seventeen" during a 50th birthday bash for New York Republican Finance Committee Chairman Matthew Mellon.
It doesn't exactly come as a surprise that the starlet would sing the classic '80s classic hit; she also performed the track at the 2005 American Music Awards along with own song, "Confessions of a Broken Heart." While the actress is clearly a fan of the '80s star, the feelings don't appear to be totally mutual. In 2011, rumors surfaced that Lindsay wanted to play Nicks in a biopic, but the singer quickly dismissed the possibility.
"That's never going to happen unless she completely cleans up her life and becomes the great actress that I know she could be," Nicks told HLN Showbiz Tonight. "It's not that I don't like Lindsay Lohan, everyone thinks I hate her, it's not that, I just want her to get it together."
Check out this video to see Lindsay's most recent performance of "Edge of Seventeen" and relive her past singing career. And, of course, be sure to tune in to "The Insider" tonight for the latest in entertainment news.
