After claiming she was too sick to fly cross-country from New York City to Los Angeles to appear before a judge, Lindsay Lohan hopped a last-minute flight to the west coast on Tuesday night out of fear a warrant would be issued for her arrest if she was a no-show.
Dressed in a fur-lined leather coat and floppy hat, the actress and her mother Dina departed from Long Island’s JFK Airport aboard the very last scheduled flight and landed at LAX just after midnight… cutting it very close before her 8:30 a.m. mandatory pre-trial hearing on Wednesday in Santa Monica.
But finding a place to lay her head for a few hours before court proved a much harder task. Lindsay, who no longer has a home in California, and her mother were first turned away from the swanky Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica because the actress was banned after trashing a room there in 2007. They then continued on to a Loews hotel nearby – and were also refused a room there, but this time simply because there weren’t any vacancies. According to TMZ, it’s unclear where the Lohans ended up.
It’s also unclear who will be representing the “Liz & Dick” actress,26, in court. Her original attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, who entered a not guilty plea on her behalf on January 15, has been removed from the case and replaced with the New York-based Mark Jay Heller… who is not even licensed to practice law in the state of California. According to TMZ, Lohan has been begging Holley to come back, but so far that seems like it’s not going to happen.
Check back to omg! just after 8:30 a.m. PT to find out what happens in court!
