plan his Parisian wedding from the slammer.Kanye West won't have to
The 36-year-old rapper pled no contest to misdemeanor battery charges on Monday. West was originally charged with criminal battery and attempted grand theft after allegedly attacking a paparazzo at LAX in July 2013.
Kim Kardashian's fiancé has been sentenced to two years probation. Kanye also must perform 250 hours of community service and undergo 24 days of anger management counseling. The rapper was ordered to spend one day in jail; however, he'll essentially be booked and released due to overcrowding in the Los Angeles County jail system.
West’s attorney claimed the rapper was only trying to prevent a photographer, Daniel Ramos, from taking his picture.
Ramos alleged that West punched him unprovoked and wrestled his camera to the ground during the scuffle. Kanye has also been ordered to pay for equipment damages and any medical bills.
Ramos has also filed a civil lawsuit against the "Flashing Lights" rapper.
However, this wasn't Kanye's first paparazzi scuffle.
West was arrested on charges of felony vandalism in Sept. 2008 after an altercation with photographers inside a terminal at LAX. Charges were dismissed after he completed community service, anger management classes, and agreed to pay the photographers for broken equipment.
