Season 6 "American Idol" champ Jordin Sparks is on top of the world these days, and now she’s added another element to her amazing physical transformation. She's taken a cue from Michelle Obama's handbook and is sporting a new haircut which includes beautiful dramatic bangs.

Sparks, 23, stepped out to debut her new 'do at a Wednesday night event in New York City, when Crystal Light Liquid hosted the world's largest group game of Words With Friends. Following her 50-pound weight loss over the past two and a half years, Sparks has truly taken control of her life and her looks. The "Battlefield" singer – who has been dating beau Jason DeRulo for a year and a half now – has been turning heads left and right.

Sparks recently found herself on the cover of Women's Running magazine and spoke about her motivators for working out. "Watching my dad was one of my biggest inspirations," she told the mag. "There are days I don’t want to get up, let alone run, and Jason’s a great motivator."

She also recently talked to Life & Style magazine about her life transformation. "I would've never thought two years ago that I would be doing running magazines and fitness magazines. It's really cool," Sparks said. “The fact that I can look back on the past two and a half years of my life and say, ‘I did that’ —it's a really good feeling to feel."

The "No Air" singer has also got quite the budding film career these days. She starred opposite the late Whitney Houston and won strong reviews in the 2012 remake of "Sparkle." Up next, she stars alongside fellow "Idol" alum Jennifer Hudson (who’s had a dramatic physical transformation of her own since appearing on the Fox singing show), in "The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete," which premiered at this year's Sundance Film Festival, but is scheduled for theatrical release later this year.
