Jon Hamm Insists He’s No Comedian

Yahoo Celebrity

Though he plays a pretty serious character on "Mad Men," Jon Hamm definitely knows how to make audiences laugh thanks to roles in movies like "Bridesmaids" and guest spots on “Saturday Night Live." But when it comes to comedy, the 42-year-old actor is adamant that he isn’t funny.

"omg! Insider" co-anchor Thea Andrews caught up with Hamm at the junket for his new miniseries, "A Young Doctor's Notebook," on Thursday, and when asked if he would like to do more comedy, he was quick to say "yes" but insisted that it doesn't come naturally to him. "I'm very aware that I personally am not funny," he said matter-of-factly. "I'm smart enough to be next to funny people."

As for "Mad Men," he noted, "There's a reason Roger Sterling gets all the jokes and not Don Draper. Slattery can tell a joke. Not so much me."
