Joe Jonas is emphatically denying that a hidden drug problem was part of the reason the Jonas Brothers split for good.

"It's ridiculous," he tells People. "We're not saying anything for two or three weeks and I'm a drug addict!"

The JoBros admitted earlier this month that they were canceling their tour due to a "deep rift within the band." Rumors were quick to follow that part of the "rift" was caused by Joe, 24, and his alleged battle with substance abuse.

"It's obviously not true. I've never touched heroin in my life," he says, before defending his gal pal, Blanda Eggenschwiler, who was also dragged into the tabloid reports. "Neither has my girlfriend."

Jonas adds, "It's hilarious to me, but also frustrating as well. It pissed me off when it's about my girl and even about myself."

Apparently, strangers were even confronting the musician about the allegations.

"I was walking down the street and people are asking me if they can give me a hug and how rehab is," notes Joe. "I'm like, 'You tell me because I've never been.'"

Nick, Joe, and Kevin all insist that it was creative differences which led to their professional split.

"I was actually the one that initiated the conversation," Nick, 21, revealed on "Good Morning America" on Wednesday. "We're family first. And that's always been our main priority. So, honesty within what we do as a group was really important. So, I came to the table with the guys, just before prepping for a tour, and I shared my heart with them. My feelings.

"It was a tough conversation," Nick admitted. "But now, we've all come to a place, after a lot of time, thinking about it, and talking about it together, where we feel like we're best suited to do our own individual things. All things we're passionate about. And choose to be brothers first."
