The Golden Globes are over, but Jennifer Lawrence’s acceptance speech for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical is leaving a very salty (but kinda sweet) taste in everyone’s mouth.
She greeted the crowd by saying “I beat Meryl,” outraging many and sending social media in a tailspin. But what most people didn’t realize is that the “Silver Linings Playbook” character was actually quoting a line from the 1996 flick “The First Wives Club.”
J-Law – a nickname coined by Will Ferrell, who presented her the Globe – showed a genuine and honest side of the star that she rarely ever shares with the public. And the speech allowed her personality to come through like never before. Check out this video to see what made J-Law’s speech stand out.
