Jennifer Lawrence and David Letterman (NBC)
It turns out that Lawrence was actually slated to sit down with the host the night before, but missed her appearance because she was stuck somewhere else — a hospital emergency room.
Though J.Law was her usual bubbly self as she snuggled with Letterman beneath a floral pink blanket (which she described as "super clean"), she explained she "had this really bad pain for like, three weeks."
Indeed, sources close to Lawrence have confirmed to omg! that the beauty was quite ill at the Los Angeles premiere on Monday, which was the reason she arrived late and didn't do any interviews on the red carpet.

Worried she had an ulcer, the star decided the following night that it was time to take action — even if it meant missing a few scheduled events.
"You know you can only s--t your pants so many times a day before you go to the emergency room, before you're like 'I need to go to the hospital,'" she quipped.
She underwent an endoscopy, however, and it was determined that she did not have an ulcer after all. "It turns out it was a 'fulcer,'" she joked. As of now, it sounds like her discomfort might be due to gas, though there is no official statement from her camp.
For her part, Jennifer seems to be taking it in stride, saying that they might just be phantom pains resulting from how tired she is. (She has been on an international tour promoting "Catching Fire," while filming the next two movies in the franchise and gearing up to promote her upcoming film, "American Hustle.") But whether she's exhausted or not, she seems to be bouncing back — or working through the pain, at least — as she looked nothing short of radiant when she dropped by "Good Morning America" bright and early Thursday. Clad in a pale pink ensemble, the actress talked not about her health issues, but her hair.
"I really don't know [what the inspiration was]," J.Law admitted to Robin Roberts with a smile. "It was really impulsive. I was like, 'I’m cutting it!' And it was just all gone. And now I look in the mirror and I'm like, 'Yeah, it's all gone!'"
Meanwhile her "Hunger Games" co-star Liam Hemsworth appeared on "Live With Kelly and Michael" and revealed that when he had his on-screen kiss with Lawrence, "she burped and said something like, 'I just had garlic.'"
So … maybe she is just gassy, after all? Whatever the cause, we hope she's on the mend soon because there's only one Mockingjay.
