The 30 Seconds to Mars singer revealed in a new interview with London's XFM that his band's fans – who call themselves The Echelon – are so dedicated, they often send him "gifts" before local shows.
"Someone cut their ear off once and sent it to me," revealed Leto. "That was very strange. A whole ear. The Van Gogh move … The note said, 'Are you listening?' I never knew who it was, who's missing their ear out there."
So what did he do with the appendage? No, he didn't throw it away or alert the proper authorities.
"I poked a hole in it and wore it as a necklace," continued Leto, who we can only hope was joking. "Just don't put your entire body in a case and send it to us."
30 Seconds to Mars has just announced its fourth album, Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams, will be released on May 20.
It's too bad one fan will only be able to hear it half as well.
